The National Study on Youth and Religion has found that young people who have faith come from families where parents actively live, practice, and talk about faith. That is why we are so welcoming to families at Mass, encourage parishioners of all ages to become actively involved in the life of the Church, celebrate intergenerational Seasonal Gatherings to model celebrating faith at home, and host a web site filled with resources for sharing faith as a family. You probably celebrate special events such as birthdays and anniversaries in your family life, but what about the anniversary of baptism? This is a significant event in the life of a Christian, and should be celebrated as such. If you don't already know the anniversary of baptism for each member of your household, it is easy to find out. Just contact the church where the baptism took place. The book, Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers, has a ritual for celebrating the anniversary of baptism. You can also access another prayer service for the anniversary of a baptism here.
Media is a powerful influence in our society, and that influence can either be positive or negative. Are you interested in finding out more information about current movies? Or do you have questions about what is coming up on television this week?
