Celebrate Shrove Tuesday/Mardi Gras at Annunciation!
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Join us in church at 6:00 p.m. for our annual Shrove Tuesday Evening Prayer and the Burning of Palm. Beginning January 30th, baskets will be placed at the doors of church for you to bring in the blessed palm branches you received last March on Palm Sunday. These palm branches will be burned during Evening Prayer on Shrove Tuesday, and the ashes will be cooled overnight and then distributed at Ash Wednesday Masses on February 17th.
Evening Prayer will be followed by our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and Mardi Gras Celebration! Make and decorate Mardi Gras masks and jester hats, and join in other Mardi Gras activities.
