Annunciation Preschool, taught by Miss Stephanie Phair, provides learning in a fun-filled environment.  The daily schedule incorporates both structured time and time for children to freely explore and play.  Classroom activities include:

*Circle time (calendar, weather, teacher's lesson, read aloud, singing

  and movement);

*Daily art projects;

*Teacher-directed center time (special time with the teacher and 1-3

  children to work on basic skills);

*Nature and science discoveries;

*Cooking;

*Daily religion lesson (click here for more information on the preschool

  religion component);

*Free play and games;

*Reading (independently or in groups);

*Special party days;

*Art class once a week with the school art teacher, Mrs. Chabot.

All program components allow children to experience learning in small and large group environments, while also including time for individual learning and play.  The yearly program components include: Holidays; I Can Take Care of Myself; Home and Family; Community Helpers; Seasons and Weather; Nutrition and the Body; The Senses; Transportation; Growing Things; Farm and Animals; and, Feelings.

Annunciation's Preschool environment offers the children a great opportunity to prepare for kindergarten.  Through a variety of activities, many skills are reinforced that will help children transition smoothly into kindergarten.  A few of these include writing, letter recognition and sounds, rhyming, opposites, number recognition, and ordinal numbers.  The children are also taught skills which help them become more independent within the classroom.
