The Roman Missal
The Vatican has issued the final text of the Roman Missal,Third Edition, for the dioceses of the United States.  The Roman Missal is the ritual book used in the celebration of the Mass.  Our celebration of the Mass remained unchanged, but some of the words spoken and sung by both the priest and the people have changed.  These changes, implemented to provide a deeper meaning to the Mass, became effective the First Sunday of Advent 2011: November 27, 2011.

Father Grogan, along with all priests of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and priests throughout the United States, attended study days regarding the implementation of the revised Roman Missal.

In September 2010, Annunciation's Christian Formation Commission began formation on the upcoming revisions in the Roman Missal, and our other Annunciation Commissions and Committees, along with our school faculty, also became immersed in this formation.  Formational gatherings on the revised Roman Missal were held for all parishioners in the summer and fall of 2011. Copies of the booklet, "Understanding the Revised Mass Texts," were also available for parishioners to take home with them.

Below are three more brief video clips (each is between one and two minutes in length) that help explain more about the changes in the Mass texts which are in the 3rd Edition of the Roman Missal.
